فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَتِ الْبِئْرُ فِي أَعْلَى الْوَادِي وَ الْوَادِي يَجْرِي فِيهِ الْبَوْلُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا وَ كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا قَدْرُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَذْرُعٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعَةِ أَذْرُعٍ لَمْ يُنَجِّسْ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ وَ إِنْ كَانَ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ يُنَجِّسُهَا وَ إِنْ كَانَتِ الْبِئْرُ فِي أَسْفَلِ الْوَادِي وَ يَمُرُّ الْمَاءُ عَلَيْهَا وَ كَانَ بَيْنَ الْبِئْرِ وَ بَيْنَهُ تِسْعَةُ أَذْرُعٍ لَمْ يُنَجِّسْهَا وَ مَا كَانَ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ قَالَ زُرَارَةُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ مَجْرَى الْبَوْلِ بِلِزْقِهَا وَ كَانَ لَا يَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ قَرَارٌ فَلَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ وَ إِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مِنْهُ قَلِيلٌ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَثْقُبُ الْأَرْضَ وَ لَا قَعْرَ لَهُ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْبِئْرَ وَ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْبِئْرِ مِنْهُ بَأْسٌ فَيُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ إِذَا اسْتَنْقَعَ كُلُّهُ .

تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'اگر کنواں وادی کے اوپری حصے میں ہو اور وادی میں پیشاب اس کے نیچے سے بہتا ہو، اور دونوں کے درمیان تین یا چار ہاتھ کا فاصلہ ہو، تو کوئی چیز اسے نجس نہیں کرے گی۔ لیکن اگر اس سے کم ہو تو نجس کر دے گا۔ اور اگر کنواں وادی کے نچلے حصے میں ہو اور پانی اس کے اوپر سے گزرتا ہو، اور دونوں کے درمیان نو ہاتھ کا فاصلہ ہو، تو نجس نہیں کرے گا؛ اور جو اس سے کم ہو اس سے وضو نہ کرو۔' زرارہ نے کہا: تو میں نے عرض کیا: اگر پیشاب کی نالی اس کے بالکل ساتھ ہو اور زمین پر نہ ٹھہرے؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'جب تک اس کا کوئی ٹھہراؤ نہ ہو تو اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔ اور اگر اس میں سے تھوڑا ٹھہر جائے لیکن زمین میں سوراخ نہیں کرتا اور کنویں تک پہنچنے کی گہرائی نہیں رکھتا، تو کنویں کو اس سے کوئی نقصان نہیں، اس سے وضو کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ یہ حکم صرف اس وقت ہے جب سارا پیشاب جمع ہو جائے۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad Bin Isa, from Hareyz, from Zurara and Muhammad Bin Muslim and Abu Baseer both said, ‘We said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘A well one performs Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> from it, the urine flows close by, would it pollute it?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If the well was in the upper part of the valley, and the urine flows in the valley underneath it, and there was a distance between the two of a measurement of three cubits or four cubits, nothing of that would pollute it. However, if it were less than that, it would pollute it. But, if it was so that the well was in the lower part of the valley and the water passes by over it, and there was between the well and it a distance of nine cubits, it would not pollute it, and whatever was less than that, so do not perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> from it’. Zurara said, ‘So I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Supposing the flow of the urine was with steep declination and it was not stationary upon the ground?’ So, he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘As long as there is no stagnation for it, so there is no problem with it; and if a little of it stagnates but it does not permeate the ground and there is no depth to it until it reaches the well, and there is no problem for the well from it, so you can perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> from it. But rather, that is when all of it stagnates (then Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> cannot be performed from it)’.
