سُئِلَ عَنْ حَدِّ الشِّكَايَةِ لِلْمَرِيضِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ يَقُولُ حُمِمْتُ الْيَوْمَ وَ سَهِرْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ وَ قَدْ صَدَقَ وَ لَيْسَ هَذَا شِكَايَةً وَ إِنَّمَا الشَّكْوَى أَنْ يَقُولَ قَدِ ابْتُلِيتُ بِمَا لَمْ يُبْتَلَ بِهِ أَحَدٌ وَ يَقُولَ لَقَدْ أَصَابَنِي مَا لَمْ يُصِبْ أَحَداً وَ لَيْسَ الشَّكْوَى أَنْ يَقُولَ سَهِرْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ وَ حُمِمْتُ الْيَوْمَ وَ نَحْوَ هَذَا .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے جمیل بن صالح سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ان سے بیمار کے لیے شکایت کی حد کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: آدمی یہ کہے کہ مجھے آج بخار ہوا اور کل رات میں نے جاگ کر گزاری، اور وہ سچ بھی بول رہا ہو، تو یہ شکایت نہیں ہے۔ البتہ شکوہ یہ ہے کہ وہ کہے: مجھے وہ مصیبت آئی جو کسی کو نہ آئی ہو، اور کہے: مجھے وہ تکلیف ہوئی جو کسی کو نہیں ہوئی۔ اور یہ شکوہ نہیں کہ وہ کہے: کل رات جاگ کر گزاری اور آج بخار ہوا، اور اس جیسی باتیں۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel Bin Salih, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> was asked about the limit of the complaints of the sick person. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The man is saying, ‘I have fever today and I stayed awake last night’, and he is truthful, this is not a complaint. But rather, the complaint is that he is saying, ‘I have been afflicted with what no one (else) has been afflicted with’, and he is saying, ‘What has hit me is what no one (else) has been hit with. And it is not a complaint if he is saying, ‘I stayed awake last night and have fever today’, and such as this’.
