إِنَّ مَنْ عِنْدَنَا يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَسْئَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُمُ الْيَهُودُ وَ النَّصَارَى قَالَ إِذاً يَدْعُونَكُمْ إِلَى دِينِهِمْ قَالَ قَالَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ نَحْنُ أَهْلُ الذِّكْرِ وَ نَحْنُ الْمَسْئُولُونَ .

محمد بن یحییٰ نے محمد بن الحسین سے، انہوں نے صفوان بن یحییٰ سے، انہوں نے العلاء بن رزین سے، انہوں نے محمد بن مسلم سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، آپ نے فرمایا: 'ہمارے ہاں کچھ لوگ دعویٰ کرتے ہیں کہ اللہ عزوجل کا کلام «فَسْئَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ» یعنی اہل ذکر سے یہودی اور نصرانی مراد ہیں۔' آپ نے فرمایا: 'تو پھر وہ تمہیں اپنے دین کی طرف بلائیں گے۔' پھر آپ نے اپنے ہاتھ سے اپنے سینے کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: 'ہم اہل ذکر ہیں اور ہم ہی وہ ہیں جن سے پوچھا جانا چاہیے۔'
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Al A’ala Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘There are ones with us who are alleging that the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:16#h43"><a href="/books/quran:16#h43">[16:43]</a></a> so ask the People of the Reminder if you do not know</span>, they are the Jews and the Christians’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Then they would be calling you to their religion’. He (the narrator) said, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> said by (placing) his<sup>asws</sup> upon his<sup>asws</sup> chest: ‘We<sup>asws</sup> are the <span class="iTxt">Ahl Al-Zikr</span> (People of the Reminder), and we<sup>asws</sup> are to be asked’.
