علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے اسماعیل بن مرار سے، انہوں نے یونس سے، انہوں نے عبد اللہ بن مسکان سے، انہوں نے ابوبکر حضرمی سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی: 'رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے نو چیزوں پر زکوٰۃ مقرر فرمائی: گندم، جو، کھجور، کشمش، سونا، چاندی، اونٹ، گائے اور بکریاں — اور اس کے علاوہ جو کچھ ہے اسے معاف فرمایا۔' یونس نے کہا: 'آپؑ کے اس فرمان کا معنی کہ زکوٰۃ نو چیزوں میں ہے اور اس کے سوا معاف ہے — یہ صرف نبوت کے ابتدائی دور میں تھا، جیسا کہ نماز پہلے دو رکعت ہوتی تھی، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے اس میں سات رکعات کا اضافہ فرمایا۔ اسی طرح زکوٰۃ کو بھی آپؐ نے نبوت کے آغاز میں نو چیزوں پر مقرر فرمایا، پھر اسے تمام اناج پر لاگو فرمایا۔'

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ismail Bin Marrar, from Yunus, from Abdullah Bin Muskan, from Abu Bakr Al Hazramy, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘Rasool-Allah^saww placed the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> upon nine things – the wheat, and the Barley, and the dates, and the raisins, and the gold, and the silver, and the camels, and the cows, and the sheep, and excused from whatever was besides that’. Yunus (the narrator) said, ‘The meaning of his^asws words that the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> is regarding nine things and excused from whatever is besides that, rather, that was during the beginning of the Prophet-hood, just as the <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span> used to be two Cycles, then Rasool-Allah^saww increased in it by seven Cycles, and similar to that is the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span>. He^saww placed it and made it to be a Sunnah in the beginning of his^saww Prophet-hood, upon nine things, then he^saww placed it upon the entirety of the grains’.
