قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ وَرِثَ دَاوُدَ وَ إِنَّ مُحَمَّداً وَرِثَ سُلَيْمَانَ وَ إِنَّا وَرِثْنَا مُحَمَّداً وَ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا عِلْمَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَ الْإِنْجِيلِ وَ الزَّبُورِ وَ تِبْيَانَ مَا فِي الْأَلْوَاحِ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْعِلْمُ قَالَ لَيْسَ هَذَا هُوَ الْعِلْمَ إِنَّ الْعِلْمَ الَّذِي يَحْدُثُ يَوْماً بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ وَ سَاعَةً بَعْدَ سَاعَةٍ .

محمد بن یحییٰ، سلمہ بن الخطاب سے، وہ عبداللہ بن محمد سے، وہ عبداللہ بن القاسم سے، وہ زرعہ بن محمد سے، وہ المفضل بن عمر سے، جنہوں نے کہا: ابو عبداللہ (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: “بے شک سلیمان نے داؤد کی وراثت پائی، اور بے شک محمد نے سلیمان کی وراثت پائی، اور بے شک ہم نے محمد کی وراثت پائی، اور بے شک ہمارے پاس تورات، انجیل، زبور، اور لوحوں میں جو کچھ ہے اس کی توضیح کا علم ہے۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے عرض کیا: “بے شک یہ تو علم ہے۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: “یہ علم نہیں ہے۔ علم وہ ہے جو دن کے بعد دن اور گھڑی کے بعد گھڑی پیش آتا رہتا ہے۔”
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Salma Bin Al Khattab, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Bin Al Qasim, from Zur’a Bin Muhammad, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Suleyman<sup>as</sup> inherited Dawood<sup>as</sup>, and that Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> inherited Suleyman<sup>as</sup>, and we<sup>asws</sup> are the inheritors of Muhammad<sup>saww</sup>, and that in our<sup>asws</sup> presence is the Knowledge of the Torah, and the Evangel, and the Psalms, and the explanation of what is in the Tablets’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘This Tablet, is the Knowledge?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘This is not the Knowledge. The Knowledge is that which occurs day after day, and moment after moment’.
