سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( صلوات الله عليه ) يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ السِّلَاحِ فِينَا مَثَلُ التَّابُوتِ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ أَيُّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ وُجِدَ التَّابُوتُ عَلَى بَابِهِمْ أُوتُوا النُّبُوَّةَ فَمَنْ صَارَ إِلَيْهِ السِّلَاحُ مِنَّا أُوتِيَ الْإِمَامَةَ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے معاویہ بن وہب سے، انہوں نے سعید السمان سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ (صلوات اللہ علیہ) کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: بے شک ہمارے درمیان ہتھیار کی مثال بنی اسرائیل میں تابوت کی سی ہے۔ بنی اسرائیل میں جس گھرانے کے دروازے پر تابوت پایا جاتا، انہیں نبوت عطا کی جاتی۔ پس ہم میں سے جس کے پاس ہتھیار پہنچتا ہے، اسے امامت عطا کی جاتی ہے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Muawiya Bin Wahab, from Saeed Al Samman who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘But rather, and example of the weapons among us<sup>asws</sup> is an example of the Ark among the Children of Israel. The Children of Israel were such that whichever family the Ark was found to be upon their door, were Given the Prophet-hood. So the one<sup>asws</sup> from us<sup>asws</sup> to whom the weapons come to be, is Given the Imamate’.
