كَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ السِّلَاحِ فِينَا مَثَلُ التَّابُوتِ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَيْثُمَا دَارَ التَّابُوتُ أُوتُوا النُّبُوَّةَ وَ حَيْثُمَا دَارَ السِّلَاحُ فِينَا فَثَمَّ الْأَمْرُ قُلْتُ فَيَكُونُ السِّلَاحُ مُزَائِلًا لِلْعِلْمِ قَالَ لَا .

محمد بن یحییٰ، محمد بن الحسین سے، صفوان سے، ابو الحسن الرضا علیہ السلام سے، انہوں نے فرمایا: ابو جعفر علیہ السلام فرمایا کرتے تھے: “ہمارے درمیان ہتھیار کی مثال صرف بنی اسرائیل میں تابوت کی سی ہے۔ جہاں کہیں تابوت جاتا، نبوت عطا کی جاتی؛ اور جہاں کہیں ہمارے درمیان ہتھیار جاتا ہے، وہاں امر ہوتا ہے۔” میں نے کہا: “تو کیا ہتھیار علم سے جدا ہو جاتا ہے؟” انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: “نہیں۔”
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Safwan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> was saying: ‘But rather an example of the weapons among us<sup>asws</sup> is an example of the Ark among the Children of Israel. Wherever the Ark went, the Prophet-hood was Given, and wherever the weapons go to among us<sup>asws</sup>, so does the Divine Authority’. I said, ‘So do the weapons happen to be counterparts of the Knowledge?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No’.
