اور ابی عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: علی علیہ السلام اکثر فرمایا کرتے تھے: تیمی اور عدوی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کی خدمت میں جمع ہوتے، جبکہ آپ “بے شک ہم نے اسے نازل کیا” کی تلاوت خشوع اور گریہ کے ساتھ فرما رہے ہوتے، تو وہ کہتے: اس سورت کے لیے آپ کی رقت کتنی شدید ہے۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ فرماتے: اس سبب سے جو میری آنکھ نے دیکھا، اور جسے میرے دل نے سمجھا، اور اس سبب سے جو اس کے دل نے میرے بعد دیکھنا ہے۔ پھر وہ کہتے: اور وہ کیا ہے جو آپ نے دیکھا، اور وہ کیا ہے جو وہ دیکھے گا؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: پھر وہ ان کے لیے مٹی میں لکھ دیتے: “فرشتے اور روح اس میں اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر امر کے ساتھ نازل ہوتے ہیں۔” انہوں نے کہا: پھر وہ فرماتے: کیا اس کے، عز و جل، اس فرمان «ہر معاملے کے ساتھ» کے بعد کچھ باقی رہ جاتا ہے؟ وہ کہتے: نہیں۔ پھر وہ فرماتے: کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ یہ کس پر نازل کیا گیا ہے؟ وہ کہتے: آپ پر، اے رسول اللہ۔ وہ فرماتے: ہاں۔ پھر وہ فرماتے: کیا لیلۃ القدر میرے بعد بھی ہوگی؟ وہ کہتے: ہاں۔ انہوں نے کہا: پھر وہ فرماتے: کیا وہ امر اس میں نازل ہوگا؟ وہ کہتے: ہاں۔ انہوں نے کہا: پھر وہ فرماتے: کس پر؟ وہ کہتے: ہم نہیں جانتے۔ پھر وہ میرے سر کو پکڑتے اور فرماتے: اگر تم نہیں جانتے تو جان لو: یہ میرے بعد یہی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا: پس بے شک وہ دونوں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کے بعد اس رات کو پہچاننے لگے، اس ہول کی شدت کی وجہ سے جو ان پر طاری ہو گئی تھی۔

Translation

And, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘It was so that Ali^asws was frequently saying: ‘There would not gather (from the Clan of) Al-Taymi (Abu Bakr) and (from the Clan of) Al-Adwy (Umar) in the presence of Rasool-Allah^saww and he^saww recited <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:97#h1"><a href="/books/quran:97#h1">[97:1]</a></a> We have indeed revealed this</span> Chapter 97) with humbleness and crying, so they would both be saying: ‘How intense is your^as soft-heartedness for this Chapter!’ So Rasool-Allah^saww was saying: ‘(It is) due to what my eyes see, and my^saww heart feels, and due to what the heart of this one^asws would see from after me^saww’. So they were both saying, ‘What is that which your^saww heart is seeing, and what is that which his^asws heart would see?’ He^asws said: ‘So he^saww wrote for them both in the sand <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:97#h4"><a href="/books/quran:97#h4">[97:4]</a></a> Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every affair</span>’. He^asws said: ‘Then he^saww was saying: ‘Does there remain anything after His^azwj Words <span class="ibTxt">every affair</span>?’ So they were both saying, ‘No’. So he^saww was saying: ‘Do you two know who they descend upon with that?’ So they were saying, ‘You^saww, O Rasool-Allah^saww!’. So he^saww was saying: ‘Yes’. So he^saww was saying: ‘Would there happen to be a Night of Pre-determination (<span class="iTxt">Laylat Al-Qadr</span>) (to come) after me^saww?’ So they both were saying, ‘Yes’. So he^saww was saying: ‘So would that affair be descending during it?’ So they were saying, ‘Yes’. So he^saww was saying: ‘Unto whom?’ So they were saying, ‘We don’t know’. So he^saww grabbed my^asws head and he^saww was saying: ‘If you don’t know, so know, it is this one^asws, from after me^saww’. He^asws said: ‘So it was such that they both (the two from the Clans of Taymi and Adwy) recognised that night (<span class="iTxt">Laylat Al-Qadr</span>) from the intensity of what entered into them from the awe’.
