سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَمَّا أَنْ قَضَى مُحَمَّدٌ نُبُوَّتَهُ وَ اسْتَكْمَلَ أَيَّامَهُ أَوْحَى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ قَدْ قَضَيْتَ نُبُوَّتَكَ وَ اسْتَكْمَلْتَ أَيَّامَكَ فَاجْعَلِ الْعِلْمَ الَّذِي عِنْدَكَ وَ الْإِيْمَانَ وَ الِاسْمَ الْأَكْبَرَ وَ مِيرَاثَ الْعِلْمِ وَ آثَارَ عِلْمِ النُّبُوَّةِ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ عِنْدَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَإِنِّي لَنْ أَقْطَعَ الْعِلْمَ وَ الْإِيمَانَ وَ الِاسْمَ الْأَكْبَرَ وَ مِيرَاثَ الْعِلْمِ وَ آثَارَ عِلْمِ النُّبُوَّةِ مِنَ الْعَقِبِ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ كَمَا لَمْ أَقْطَعْهَا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّاتِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ .

محمد بن یحیی، محمد بن الحسین اور احمد بن محمد سے، وہ ابن محبوب سے، وہ محمد بن الفضیل سے، وہ ابو حمزہ ثمالی سے، وہ ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے انہیں یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: جب محمد صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم نے اپنی نبوت مکمل کر لی اور اپنے دن پورے کر لیے، تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کی طرف وحی فرمائی: اے محمد، تم نے اپنی نبوت مکمل کر لی اور اپنے دن پورے کر لیے؛ پس جو علم تمہارے پاس ہے، اور ایمان، اور اسمِ اعظم، اور علم کی میراث، اور نبوت کے علم کے آثار اپنے اہلِ بیت میں علی بن ابی طالب کے پاس رکھ دو۔ کیونکہ میں علم، ایمان، اسمِ اعظم، علم کی میراث، اور نبوت کے علم کے آثار کو تمہاری اولاد میں آنے والی نسل سے ہرگز منقطع نہ کروں گا، جیسے میں نے انہیں انبیاء کی اولاد سے منقطع نہیں کیا۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn and Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Muhammad Bin Al Fuzayl, from Abu Hamza Al Sumaly, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I heard him<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘When the Prophet-hood of Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> expired and his<sup>saww</sup> days were completed, Allah<sup>azwj</sup> the Exalted Revealed unto him<sup>saww</sup>: “O Muhammad<sup>saww</sup>! Your<sup>saww</sup> Prophet-hood has expired and your<sup>saww</sup> days are completed, therefore make the Knowledge which is with you<sup>saww</sup>, and the <span class="iTxt">Eman</span>, and the Great Name, and inheritance of the Knowledge, and the traces (Ahadeeth) of Knowledge of the Prophet-hood to be in the People<sup>asws</sup> of your<sup>saww</sup> Household with Ali<sup>asws</sup> Bin Abu Talib<sup>asws</sup>, for I<sup>azwj</sup> Never Cut-off the Knowledge, and the <span class="iTxt">Eman</span>, and the Great Name, and inheritance of the Knowledge, and traces of the Knowledge (Ahadeeth) of the Prophet-hood, from the descendants of your<sup>saww</sup> offspring, just as I<sup>azwj</sup> did not Cut it off from the offspring of the Prophets<sup>as</sup> (before)’.
