علی بن ابراہیم، محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، یونس بن عبد الرحمن سے، عبد الاعلیٰ سے، ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میرے والد علیہ السلام نے مجھے وہاں کی امانت سونپی۔ پھر جب ان کی وفات کا وقت آیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: “میرے لیے گواہ بلاؤ۔” چنانچہ میں نے ان کے لیے قریش کے چار آدمی بلائے، جن میں نافع بھی تھا، جو عبد اللہ بن عمر کا مولیٰ تھا۔ پھر انہوں نے فرمایا: “لکھو: یہ وہ وصیت ہے جو یعقوب نے اپنے بیٹوں کو کی تھی:” “اے میرے بیٹو، بے شک اللہ نے تمہارے لیے دین کو چن لیا ہے، پس تم ہرگز نہ مرو مگر اس حال میں کہ تم مسلمان ہو۔” اور محمد بن علی نے جعفر بن محمد کو وصیت کی، اور اسے حکم دیا کہ اسے اس کی چادر میں کفنائے جس میں وہ جمعہ کی نماز ادا کیا کرتے تھے، اور اس پر اس کی عمامہ رکھے، اور اس کی قبر کو مربع بنائے، اور اسے چار انگلیوں کے برابر بلند کرے، اور دفن کے وقت اس کے بوسیدہ کپڑے اس سے اتار دے۔ پھر اس نے گواہوں سے کہا: “تم جا سکتے ہو؛ اللہ تم پر رحم فرمائے۔” پھر میں نے اس سے کہا: “اے میرے والد، ان کے چلے جانے کے بعد، یہ ایسی بات نہ تھی جس پر گواہ بلائے جاتے۔” اس نے کہا: “اے میرے بیٹے، مجھے یہ ناپسند تھا کہ تم پر غلبہ ہو جائے اور یہ کہا جائے کہ ‘اس نے اسے وصیت نہیں کی۔’ اس لیے میں نے چاہا کہ تمہارے لیے حجت قائم ہو جائے۔”

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus Bin Abdul Rahman, from Abdul A’ala, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘My^asws father^asws entrusted me^asws with whatever was there. So when the death presented itself to him^asws, he^asws said: ‘Call witnesses for me^asws’. So I^asws called four (people) from the Qureysh for him^asws, among them was Nafi’u a slave of Abdullah Bin Umar. So he^asws said: ‘Write! This is what Yaqoub^as bequeathed with to his^as sons <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h132"><a href="/books/quran:2#h132">[2:132]</a></a> O my sons! Surely Allah has Chosen for you the Religion, therefore die not unless you are Muslims (submitters)</span>. And Muhammad^asws Bin Ali^asws is bequeathing to Ja’far^asws Bin Muhammad^asws and instructing him^asws that he^asws should enshroud him^asws in his^asws cloak which he^asws used to pray the Friday <span class="iTxt">Salat</span> in it, and that he^asws should turban him^asws with a turban, and that he^asws should square his^asws grave raising it to four fingers, and that he^asws should loosen his^asws shroud during his^asws burial’. Then he^asws said to the witnesses: ‘You can leave, may Allah^azwj have Mercy on you all’. So I said to him^asws after they had left: ‘O father^asws! It wasn’t regarding this that you^asws got them to witness upon’. So he^asws said: ‘O my^asws son^asws! I^asws disliked you^asws to be overcome, and that it should be said, ‘He^asws did not bequeath to him^asws’. So I^asws wanted it to become a proof for you^asws’.
