قَالَ لَهُ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أُمِّي إِنَّ الْأَنْفُسَ يُغْدَى عَلَيْهَا وَ يُرَاحُ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَمَنْ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى مَنْكِبِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) الْأَيْمَنِ فِي مَا أَعْلَمُ وَ هُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ خُمَاسِيٌّ وَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ جَالِسٌ مَعَنَا .

منصور بن حازم نے ان سے کہا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان! بے شک جانوں پر صبح و شام آنا جانا ہوتا ہے؛ تو جب ایسا ہو تو پھر وہ کون ہوگا؟ تو ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: جب ایسا ہو تو وہ تمہارا صاحب ہے۔ اور انہوں نے اپنا ہاتھ ابو الحسن علیہ السلام کے دائیں کندھے پر رکھا، جہاں تک مجھے معلوم ہے؛ اور اس دن وہ پانچ سال کے تھے، جبکہ عبداللہ بن جعفر ہمارے ساتھ بیٹھے تھے۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Najran, from Safwan Al Jammal, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> having said: ‘Mansour Bin Hazim said to him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, ‘May by father and my mother be (sacrificed) for you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>! The souls (people) wake up in the morning and they leave (die). So when it was that, so who (would be the next Imam<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>)?’ So Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘When it would be like that, so it would be your master<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>’, and he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> struck by his<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> hand upon a shoulder of Abu Al-Hassan<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> (7<sup style="font-weight: normal">th</sup> Imam<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>), the right one as far as I know, and he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, in those days, was five, and Abdullah, son of Ja’far<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> was seated along with us’.
