ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے الوشاء سے، انہوں نے محمد بن حمران اور جمیل بن دراج سے روایت کی — دونوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، فرمایا: رسولِ اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب بھی کوئی سریّہ روانہ فرماتے، اس کے امیر کو بلاتے، اپنے پہلو میں بٹھاتے اور اصحاب کو اپنے سامنے بٹھاتے؛ پھر فرماتے: 'اللہ کے نام سے، اللہ کے ساتھ، اللہ کی راہ میں، اور رسولِ اللہ کی ملت پر چلو۔ نہ غداری کرو، نہ مالِ غنیمت میں خیانت کرو، نہ مثلہ کرو، نہ کوئی درخت کاٹو جب تک مجبور نہ ہو۔ فانی بوڑھے کو قتل نہ کرو، نہ بچے کو، نہ عورت کو۔' اور مسلمانوں میں سے کمتر سے کمتر یا افضل سے افضل جو شخص بھی کسی مشرک کو پناہ دے تو وہ اللہ کا کلام سننے تک پناہ میں ہے۔ جب وہ اللہ عزوجل کا کلام سن لے تو اگر تمہاری پیروی کرے — وہ تمہارے دین میں تمہارا بھائی ہے؛ اگر انکار کرے — اللہ سے مدد مانگو اور اسے پناہ گاہ پہنچا دو۔ علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابنِ ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے جمیل سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے اسی طرح روایت کی، سوائے اس کے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: اور مسلمانوں میں سے جو شخص بھی کسی مشرک کو پناہ دے — چاہے وہ لشکر کے سب سے دور حصے میں ہو یا قریب ترین — تو وہ پناہ میں ہے۔

Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Washa, from Muhammad Bin Humran, and Jameel Bin Darraj, all of them, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘Whenever Rasool-Allah^saww sent a battallion, called its commander and made him sit by his^saww side, and his companions to sit in front of him^asws. Then he^saww would say: ‘March in the Name of Allah^azwj, and with Allah^azwj, and in the Way of Allah^azwj, and upon the Religion of Rasool-Allah^saww. Neither be treacherous, nor commit excesses, nor mutilate, nor cut down a tree except if you are desperate to it, and do not kill a dying elder, nor a child, nor a woman. And whichever man from the lowest of the Muslims and their most superior of them pities anyone from the Polytheists, so he is a neighbour (friend) until he hears the Speech of Allah^azwj. So when he hears the Speech of Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic and if he follows you, so he is your brother in your Religion, and if he refuses, so seek Assistance of Allah^azwj against him, and deliver him to his safety’. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws, similar to it except that he^saww said: ‘And whichever man from the Muslims pities a man from the Polytheists in the remoteness of the army and its lowest, so he is a neighbour (friend)’.
