لِيَكُنْ طَلَبُكَ لِلْمَعِيشَةِ فَوْقَ كَسْبِ الْمُضَيِّعِ وَ دُونَ طَلَبِ الْحَرِيصِ الرَّاضِي بِدُنْيَاهُ الْمُطْمَئِنِّ إِلَيْهَا وَ لَكِنْ أَنْزِلْ نَفْسَكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمُنْصِفِ الْمُتَعَفِّفِ تَرْفَعُ نَفْسَكَ عَنْ مَنْزِلَةِ الْوَاهِنِ الضَّعِيفِ وَ تَكْتَسِبُ مَا لَا بُدَّ مِنْهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُعْطُوا الْمَالَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَشْكُرُوا لَا مَالَ لَهُمْ .
اردو
اس سے، ابن فضال سے، اس سے جس نے بیان کیا، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت ہے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: تیری معاش کی طلب ضائع کرنے والے کی کمائی سے اوپر اور لالچی کی طلب سے کم ہو جو اپنی دنیا پر راضی اور اس پر مطمئن ہے؛ بلکہ اپنے آپ کو اس میں انصاف والے اور پرہیزگار کے مرتبے پر رکھو۔ اپنے آپ کو سستی کرنے والے کمزور کے مرتبے سے بلند رکھو اور جو لازمی ہو وہ کماؤ۔ بے شک جن لوگوں کو مال دیا گیا پھر انہوں نے شکر نہیں کیا ان کے لیے کوئی مال نہیں۔
Translation
From him, from Ibn Fazaal, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Let your seeking of the livelihood be above the earning of the squanderer and below the seeking of the greedy one the one pleased with his world and reliant upon it, but descend yourself from that to be at the status of the equitable ones, the conservative. Raise yourself from the status of the neglectful, the weak, and earn what is inevitable from it. Those who are Granted the wealth, then are not grateful, there is no wealth for them’.
