ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm، اپنے والد سے، al-Ḥasan ibn Maḥbūb سے، Yaʿqūb al-Sarrāj اور ʿAlī ibn Riʾāb سے، Abū ʿAbdillāh عليه السلام سے روایت ہے کہ جب ʿUthmān کے قتل کے بعد Amīr al-Muʾminīn عليه السلام کی بیعت کی گئی، تو وہ منبر پر تشریف لے گئے اور ایک خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا جس کا انہوں نے ذکر کیا، فرمایا: اس میں: “بے شک تمہاری آزمائش اسی حالت میں لوٹ آئی ہے جس حالت میں وہ اس دن تھی جب اللہ نے اپنے نبی صلى الله عليه وآله کو بھیجا تھا۔” اس ذات کی قسم جس نے اسے حق کے ساتھ بھیجا، تم ضرور سخت اضطراب میں ڈالے جاؤ گے اور ضرور خوب چھانا جاؤ گے، یہاں تک کہ تم میں سے نچلے اوپر ہو جائیں اور اوپر والے نیچے ہو جائیں، اور جو پیچھے رہ گئے تھے وہ ضرور آگے بڑھ جائیں گے، جبکہ جو آگے بڑھ چکے تھے وہ ضرور پیچھے رہ جائیں گے۔ اللہ کی قسم، میں نے نہ کوئی نشان چھپایا اور نہ ایک جھوٹ بولا، اور مجھے یقیناً اس مقام اور اس دن کی خبر دی گئی تھی۔”

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Yaqoub Al Sarraj and Ali Bin Raib, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws: ‘When Amir Al-Momineen^asws was pledged allegiance to after the killing of Usman, he^asws ascended the Pulpit and addressed with a sermon, he (Abu Abdullah^asws) mentioned, saying therein: ‘Indeed! Your trials have returned as if these were on the day Allah^azwj Sent His^azwj Prophet^saww. By the One^azwj Who Sent him^saww with the Truth, you will be tried with trials and you would be sifted with a sifting until your lower ones would turn to be your higher ones and your higher ones, your lower ones, and your forwards ones who were ahead would be left behind, and those who were left behind would precede. By Allah^azwj! I^asws have not concealed and (have) specified, and I^asws did not lie with a lie, and I^asws had been Informed with this place and this day’.
