سَأَلْتُ عَبْداً صَالِحاً عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قُلْ إِنَّما حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَواحِشَ ما ظَهَرَ مِنْها وَ ما بَطَنَ قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْقُرْآنَ لَهُ ظَهْرٌ وَ بَطْنٌ فَجَمِيعُ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ هُوَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَئِمَّةُ الْجَوْرِ وَ جَمِيعُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِي الْكِتَابِ هُوَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَئِمَّةُ الْحَقِّ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے، احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے حسین بن سعید سے، انہوں نے ابی وہب سے، انہوں نے محمد بن منصور سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ایک صالح بندے سے اللہ عز و جل کے اس قول کے بارے میں پوچھا: کہہ دو: بے شک میرے رب نے صرف بے حیائیوں کو حرام کیا ہے، ان میں سے جو ظاہر ہیں اور جو پوشیدہ ہیں۔ اس نے کہا: پس اس نے کہا، “بے شک قرآن کا ایک ظاہر ہے اور ایک باطن ہے۔ پس جو کچھ اللہ نے قرآن میں حرام کیا ہے وہ اس کا ظاہر ہے، اور اس کا باطن جور کے امام ہیں۔ اور جو کچھ اللہ تعالیٰ نے کتاب میں حلال کیا ہے وہ اس کا ظاہر ہے، اور اس کا باطن حق کے امام ہیں۔”
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Abu Wahab, from Muhammad Bin Mansour who said, ‘I asked Al-Abd Al-Salih<sup>asws</sup> (7<sup>th</sup> Imam<sup>asws</sup>) about the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:7#h33"><a href="/books/quran:7#h33">[7:33]</a></a> Say: But rather, My Lord has only Prohibited the immoralities, those of which are apparent as well as those that are concealed</span>. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The Quran is such that for it there is an apparent and a hidden (meaning). So the entirety of what Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Prohibited in the Quran, it is the apparent, and the hidden from that are the tyrannical imams (leaders); and the entirety of what Allah<sup>azwj</sup> the Exalted Permitted in the Book, it is the apparent, and the hidden from that are the Imams<sup>asws</sup> of the truth’.
