سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنْداداً يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ اللَّهِ قَالَ هُمْ وَ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءُ فُلَانٍ وَ فُلَانٍ اتَّخَذُوهُمْ أَئِمَّةً دُونَ الْإِمَامِ الَّذِي جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَاماً فَلِذَلِكَ قَالَ وَ لَوْ يَرَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِذْ يَرَوْنَ الْعَذابَ أَنَّ الْقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعاً وَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعَذابِ. إِذْ تَبَرَّأَ الَّذِينَ اتُّبِعُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوا وَ رَأَوُا الْعَذابَ وَ تَقَطَّعَتْ بِهِمُ الْأَسْبابُ. وَ قالَ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوا لَوْ أَنَّ لَنا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُمْ كَما تَبَرَّؤُا مِنَّا كَذلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ اللَّهُ أَعْمالَهُمْ حَسَراتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ ما هُمْ بِخارِجِينَ مِنَ النَّارِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) هُمْ وَ اللَّهِ يَا جَابِرُ أَئِمَّةُ الظَّلَمَةِ وَ أَشْيَاعُهُمْ .

محمد بن یحییٰ، احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، وہ حسن بن محبوب سے، وہ عمرو بن ثابت سے، وہ جابر سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے اللہ عز و جل کے اس قول کے بارے میں پوچھا: “اور لوگوں میں کچھ ایسے ہیں جو اللہ کے سوا ہمسر بناتے ہیں؛ وہ ان سے ایسی محبت کرتے ہیں جیسی اللہ سے محبت کی جاتی ہے۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: “اللہ کی قسم، وہ فلاں اور فلاں کے اولیاء ہیں؛ انہوں نے انہیں امام بنایا، اس امام کے سوا جسے اللہ نے لوگوں کے لیے امام قرار دیا تھا۔” “پس اسی وجہ سے اس نے فرمایا: ‘اور اگر وہ لوگ جنہوں نے ظلم کیا ہے، جب وہ عذاب دیکھیں، تو دیکھ سکیں کہ تمام قوت اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے، اور بے شک اللہ عذاب دینے میں سخت ہے۔ جب جن کی پیروی کی گئی وہ اپنے پیروکاروں سے بیزاری ظاہر کریں گے، اور وہ عذاب دیکھیں گے، اور ان کے درمیان تمام رشتے منقطع ہو جائیں گے۔ اور پیروکار کہیں گے: کاش ہمیں ایک اور بار لوٹنے کا موقع مل جائے، تو ہم ان سے بیزاری ظاہر کریں جیسے انہوں نے ہم سے بیزاری ظاہر کی۔ اسی طرح اللہ ان کے اعمال کو ان پر حسرتیں بنا کر دکھائے گا، اور وہ آگ سے نکلنے والے نہ ہوں گے۔’” پھر ابو جعفر (عليه السلام) نے فرمایا: “اللہ کی قسم، اے جابر، وہ ظلم کرنے والوں کے امام اور ان کے پیروکار ہیں۔”
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Amro Bin Sabit, from Jabir who said, ‘I asked Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> about the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h165"><a href="/books/quran:2#h165">[2:165]</a></a> And from the people there are ones who take for themselves objects of worship besides Allah, whom they love as they love Allah</span>. By Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! They are the friends of so and so (Abu Bakr) and so and so (Umar). They are taking them as imams (leaders) besides whom Allah<sup>azwj</sup> had Made to be as the Imams<sup>asws</sup> for the people. Thus, due to that, He<sup>azwj</sup> Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h165"><a href="/books/quran:2#h165">[2:165]</a></a> and if those who are unjust had seen, the Punishment when they see it, that the Power is wholly Allah's and that Allah is Severe in requiting (evil)</span>. <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h166"><a href="/books/quran:2#h166">[2:166]</a></a> When those who were followed shall renounce those who followed (them), and they see the Punishment and their ties are cut asunder</span>. And He<sup>azwj</sup> Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h167"><a href="/books/quran:2#h167">[2:167]</a></a> And those who followed shall say: Had there been for us a return, then we would renounce them as they have renounced us. Thus will Allah Show them their deeds to be intense regret to them, and they shall not be coming out from the Fire</span>’. Then Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘By Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! They are the unjust imams (leaders) and their adherents’.
