حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ مَاتَ وَ لَيْسَ لَهُ إِمَامٌ فَمِيتَتُهُ مِيتَةُ جَاهِلِيَّةٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِيتَةُ كُفْرٍ قَالَ مِيتَةُ ضَلَالٍ قُلْتُ فَمَنْ مَاتَ الْيَوْمَ وَ لَيْسَ لَهُ إِمَامٌ فَمِيتَتُهُ مِيتَةُ جَاهِلِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ .

عبد الکریم بن عمرو نے مجھ سے روایت کی، ابن ابی یعفور سے، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابا عبد اللہ (عليه السلام) سے رسول اللہ (صلى الله عليه وآله) کے اس ارشاد کے بارے میں پوچھا: “جو شخص اس حال میں مرے کہ اس کا کوئی امام نہ ہو، تو اس کی موت جاہلیت کی موت ہے۔” انہوں نے فرمایا۔ میں نے کہا، “کفر کی موت؟” انہوں نے فرمایا، “گمراہی کی موت۔” میں نے کہا، “تو جو آج اس حال میں مرے کہ اس کا کوئی امام نہ ہو، اس کی موت جاہلیت کی موت ہے؟” تو انہوں نے فرمایا، “ہاں۔”
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Washha who said, ‘Abdul Kareem Bin Amro narrated to me, from Ibn Abu Yafour who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the Words of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>: ‘The one who dies and there isn’t an Imam<sup>asws</sup> for him, so his death would be a death of the ignorance (Pre-Islamic period)’, I said, ‘A death of disbelief?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Death of straying’. I said, ‘So the one who dies today, and there isn’t an Imam<sup>asws</sup> for him, so his death would be a death of the ignorance (Pre-Islamic period)’.
