John Shaqi

اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَّا أَنْ تَقُولُوا قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفاً قَالَ يَلْقَاهَا فَيَقُولُ إِنِّي فِيكِ لَرَاغِبٌ وَ إِنِّي لِلنِّسَاءِ لَمُكْرِمٌ فَلَا تَسْبِقِينِي بِنَفْسِكِ وَ السِّرُّ لَا يَخْلُو مَعَهَا حَيْثُ وَعَدَهَا .


Translation

Humeyd Bin Ziyad, from Al Hassan Bin Muhammad, from someone else, from Aban, from Abdul Rahman Bin Abu Abdullah, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding the Word of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:2#h235"><a href="/books/quran:2#h235">[2:235]</a></a> unless you speak in a goodly manner</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He meets her, so he is saying, ‘I have a desire in you, and I am honourable to the women, so do not precede me (before someone else) with yourself’, and the <span class="ibTxt">secret</span> is that he should not be alone with her when he promises her’.
