هَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ وَ هِيَ مِنْ صَلَوَاتِ اَلنَّهَارِ وَ إِنَّمَا يُجْهَرُ فِي صَلاَةِ اَللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ «لِأَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ كَانَ يُغَلِّسُ بِهَا فَقَرَّبَهَا مِنَ اَللَّيْلِ.

یحییٰ ابن اکثم، قاضی، نے ابا الحسن الاول علیہ السلام سے پوچھا: فجر کی نماز کے بارے میں: کیوں اس میں تلاوت بلند آواز میں کی جاتی ہے، حالانکہ یہ دن کی نمازوں میں سے ہے، جبکہ بلند آواز میں تلاوت صرف رات کی نماز میں ہوتی ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: "کیونکہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اسے فجر کی تاریکی میں ادا کرتے تھے، اس لیے انہوں نے اسے رات کے قریب قرار دیا۔"
Translation
Hadith.925 - Yahya ibn Aktham asked Abu Al-Hasan al-Awwal (as) about the Fajr prayer and why it is recited aloud even though it is one of the daytime prayers, while generally only nighttime prayers are recited aloud. Imam (as) replied: "This is because The Prophet (sw) would offer it at the break of dawn, making it close to the nighttime."
